number one

So it starts here. The blog. What is it? "web log: a shared on-line journal where people can post diary entries about their personal experiences and hobbies" Ok, sure. Simple enough. Here is my version. I'm not sure what it will all contain yet but I suppose that isn't the point. So off I go with the best cup of coffee this hotel has to offer at 10:00 at night...

This week work has brought me to Sacramento California. I am staying downtown. I didn't know what to expect at first. It has really turned out to be a fantastic area. It is not what I was expecting at all. Each night I have been taking a nightly walk around the area where my hotel is. (no rental car!!) I have really taken for granted what things you can miss or not notice when I'm buzzing around in my car. Walking everywhere has forced me to slow down a bit. It seems that the restaurants, bars, pubs, nick nack shops etc. are just endless here - that is when your walking anyway.

Monday night I ate at the California Pizza Kitchen. It was Monday so not much was going on around here. It was pretty slow not many people were out and about. You can really tell how people come downtown more as the week progresses.

Tuesday I tried Pete's Brewhouse. There I had one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I've ever had. I also went for a frosty mug of Pete's Uptown Blonde beers. (Style: American Pale Wheat Ale) What a fantastic beer! I can finally say I had a great night with a blonde. Sorry Ang I had to. :)

Tonight I went back to a place that I instantly fell for two weeks ago when I was here which was Brew It Up. It was another nice brewpub. It had an interesting twist to it. You could come in and brew your own beer using their brewing system on site. That's right you make you own, come back when its done and drink the beer you made. There were many different smells throughout the restaurant that added to the mood.

On to other things from today..

As many of you know I enjoy watching Formula One racing. I was very excited to hear today that the newly formed USF1 team has found a sponsor for their team next year, which will be none other than Google's YouTube!! This I'm sure will be an interesting sponsor not only for the team but also for F1 in general.

So I never thought I'd say it but how 'bout that Taurus?!! This ain't yo mama's Taurus either. Or your dad's. Or my dad's either. Well anyway click here for a video of 4300 lbs. of car finding its way into the 13's. It seems the car is stock! Goodness. This car is really surprising me. Paddle shifters ta boot!

till next time
