Sony Ericsson PlayStation Phone To Be Revealed In Feb?
Sony Ericsson's CEO, Bert Nordberg, has dropped some hints on the PlayStation phone in a recent interview. While he didn't directly confirm the existence of the phone, he did mention that there was “a lot of smoke” and therefore there “must be a fire somewhere”. He also noted that such a phone would be technically easy for anyone, but was very glad that Sony could land rights deals with game publishers. There wasn’t a specific timing mentioned, but he did mention that he wanted to create some noise at the upcoming Mobile World Congress, an event which is often used for major international phone launches. Are we only a few short months away from seeing the PlayStation phone being officially unveiled?

Fujitsu developing more efficient wireless charging
Wireless charging is a technology which has never really quite worked the way we would all want it to. Well, Fujitsu is looking to change all that, with today’s announcement of what they are calling “compact, high-efficiency wireless charging systems.”
The system will utilize magnetic resonance-based technologies, which can recharge multiple devices at the same time. Not only that, Fujitsu is boasting that it offers the ability to design charging systems in 1/150th the time currently required.
If this technology is practical and affordable, it could revolutionize the way we charge mobile devices. A single unit could be used to charge an entire household’s mobile devices, or could be built into airplanes and buses for free, wireless charging of all electronics. We will definitely be keeping our eyes peeled for more on this one, so stay tuned.

Android having a big effect on automotive infotainment, according to iSuppli
Market research firm iSuppli has released a report regarding the impact smartphones have had on automotive infotainment, a term describing their use as both a tool for information, such as maps and navigation, and entertainment, such as music and video playback.
The firm notes that Google’’s implementation of free, high-quality navigation for Android has had a significant impact on the GPS industry, resulting in the lowering of prices on units across the board. They also mention that smartphone platforms, such as Android, have revolutionized the way music is listened to in the car, including the deployment of Internet radio services like Pandora.
According to iSuppli, we might even see Android and other mobile platforms being built right into vehicle dashboards, providing free and accurate navigation right on board.

2011 Ford Explorer unveiled live from coast to coast
It's been quite a day for the new 2011 Ford Explorer. After teasing, more teasing, and even more teasing, Ford finally unveiled what it thinks will 'reinvent the SUV for the 21st century.' At 12:01 EST this morning, we presented an in-depth look at the new Explorer, providing details on the new exterior and interior as well as some of the safety features, and at noon we went over the new powertrain options, including the 2.0-liter EcoBoost inline-4 that will deliver 30 percent better fuel efficiency than the previous V6 model. Ford has even put up a configurator for the 2011 Explorer, allowing you to build your own.
The 2011 Explorer was also introduced live in various parts of the country, from the middle of New York City to Detroit to Los Angeles. We were in attendance on both ends of the coasts to cover the unveilings, each of which had an entirely different feel. The Discovery Channel's Mike Rowe was on hand with CEO Alan Mulally to make the introductions in the Big Apple, while Ford's President of the Americas Mark Fields did the honors amidst huge sand sculptures alongside the famous boardwalk in Venice Beach. You can see photos from both unveilings in the galleries below.
